Dallas County Probate Judge praises MLK, John Lewis

Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn praised Martin Luther King Jr. and Congressman John Lewis for their historic Civil Rights achievements on April 4.

At the 56th anniversary of MLK’s assassination, Nunn said  MLK should be more honored

“We have come a long way, but we still have a ways to go,” Nunn said. “When King got killed, he was at the Lorraine Hotel fighting for people who couldn’t defend themselves.”

Nunn also praised Lewis for leading the “Bloody Sunday” march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge on March 7, 1965, resulting in the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Lewis is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
