Selma man arrested in Arizona

A Selma man wanted for capital murder was captured in Phoenix, Arizona on March 5.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), Kenyada Dukes, 36, was arrested by U.S. Marshals. 

Dukes was indicted by a Grand Jury for the capital murder of Javon Hall, 28, on April 29, 2023. Hall was shot in the parking lot in front of Hibbett Sports in broad daylight and eventually died.

Another Selma man, Stephen Wood, 36,  is also charged with capital murder in the case. The two men face four counts of shooting into an unoccupied building.

Sheriff’s officials said the investigation is still underway, with potential more arrests. 

Deputies will head to Arizona and bring Dukes back to the state before the month ends.
