Three Morgan Academy sophomores were recently chosen for the University of Alabama’s Capstone Leadership Academy (CLA). 

Walt Bowline, Mary Emily Frazer and Caden Tellier were selected through a competitive process among candidates from across the state displaying strong academics and leadership.

“We are so proud of these outstanding student leaders and how well they will represent Morgan Academy, our city and county,” Morgan Academy Guidance Counselor Sheryl Schroeder said. 

The two-day CLA event will be held Feb. 29 and March 1. The academy features a slate of dynamic speakers and group activities for students to develop leadership skills. 

All 160 participants qualify to compete for the Jean Townsend O’Connor/Snyder and Leslie Anderson Vallely Freshman Scholarship. This one-time $6,000 freshman scholarship is awarded to one member of each leadership academy class who attends Alabama in the future.
