Dallas County man arrested on multiple charges

A Dallas County man is being charged with a burglary and attempted rape which occurred on Feb. 19 in Beloit.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), Kelvante Spicer, 25, is accused of two burglaries and trying to rape a woman at gunpoint.

As DCSO Deputies investigated a burglary at the 200 block of County Road 189, they were called about a burglary at another house down the road. The department said when deputies arrived at that house,  they found the door kicked in and Spicer inside with a gun.

A woman drove up and told deputies that Spicer flagged her down and tried to rape her at gunpoint. The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, told the DCSO she managed to fight him off and get away. 

The DCSO report also revealed that Spicer was accused of groping young women at two Selma businesses on Feb. 20. 

Spicer is being held in the Perry County Correctional Facility on $750,000 bail.
