Executive Director Becky Nichols never gets tired of fighting for The Selma-Dallas County Public Library.
We always see Nichols ensuring local residents feel comfortable at the library, whether its for reading books or using the internet.
On Valentine’s Day, Nichols contacted The Selma Times-Journal to make sure we knew about the library geting increased megabytes. Not only did we answer Nichols’ call, we found some interesting information about the library’s wi-fi in the bargain.
We were surprised that the library has the most internet usage across the state, according to Alabama Supercomputer Authority (ASC). For a city the size of Selma, we find that number to be amazing. We expected Mobile, Birmingham and Huntsville, cities bigger than Selma, to have more wi-fi usage.
Nichols always credits the library staff, a true testament to he leadership.
Nichols has support throughout the area, especially from Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr., Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, various local churches and businesses.
We applaud the work that Nichols continues to do at the Selma-Dallas County Public Library. We look forward to seeng more in the future.
