Lara Lorraine Lewis Suther, 57, of Selma passed away Feb. 6 in Clanton. She was born Dec. 8, 1966 in Dallas County to Linda Stroud and Wayne Lewis. Those close to her in her youth called her Cissy. She was raised in Selma by her great grandmother Hermie Lewis and her great aunt and uncle Violet and Robert Hatfield, all of whom preceded her in death. Lara’s father Wayne and brother Anthony also preceded her in death.

Lara was married to Randy Suther of Valley Grande until his death last July. She spent the last seven months of his life with him in Atlanta, Georgia where he underwent cancer treatments. Her dog Febe, who was so dear to her, was with them through it all. Lara had many friends and family that loved her. She was employed at Mr. Waffle in Selma where many also knew and loved her. Her heart was made of gold and most would agree she was one of the sweetest persons you’d ever meet. She will be missed dearly.
