Wilson Sporting Goods and the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) provided a grant to Dallas County High School, funds which helped buy new equipment for the school’s volleyball team.

A brand new volleyball cart, travel bag and 12 brand new game balls were donated to Dallas County’s volleyball. Head coach David Hobson said he appreciates the $1,000 grant and the opportunities new equipment open for the team.

“When I took over as the Head Volleyball Coach, I knew there were things that needed to be updated,” Hobson said. “Our game balls cost between $60-$75 each and we have to provide two for each game every year. We also needed an updated ball cart. We now have a brand new collapsible ball cart, a travel bag for away games, and 12 brand new Wilson K1 Gold game balls.

“This means that we can go to away games and keep track of our equipment. We have a nice cart to use for home games that can also travel to away games, and we have game balls to last at least the next six seasons.’’

Hobson said that donations like this goes a long way toward building a stellar volleyball program.

“It might seem like little stuff, but the little stuff right now will help us be able to do the big stuff later,” Hobson said.
