Four Dallas County High School students, including a star football player, were arrested on drug and gun charges Jan. 26.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), Desean Peat, 18, and three juveniles were arrested. According to the Sheriff’s report, deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident Peat was involved in on County Road 63 in Plantersville.

The report revealed that Peat passed a bag to a student on a school bus which passed by the accident scene. Deputies went to the school and got the bag, finding a loaded gun and marijuana inside.

Peat’s name was mentioned in the report because he is 18 years old and of legal age. By state law, the three juveniles can not be identified because they are minors.

Peat was a Selma Times-Journal All Dallas County football selection last year as cornerback for the Hornets.

He is being held in the Perry County Correctional Center on $12,000 bond. The juveniles were taken to the Dallas County Detention Center.
