The Selma Police Department (SPD) is investigating its first murder of the year.. 

According to Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford, officers found the body of LaToya McCord inside a vehicle on Jan. 14 at the 2100 block of Woodrow East Avenue.

“Upon arrival, officers found McCord’s body unresponsive inside a vehicle,” Fulford said.

Fulford said that Quandarius Green is a suspect in the alleged fatal shooting and charged with capital murder. Green is currently placed in jail with no bond. 

No further details were released as the murder remains under investigation.
