Selma High School’s Day of Action with WSFA TV 12, originally slated for Jan. 12, has been rescheduled to Feb. 2 due to Friday’s threat for severe weather. The event, an observance of the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 12, 2023 tornado, will take place in the Selma High School gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Selma City School District is teaming up with local partners including the Selma Center for Non-violence, Truth Racial Healing & Transformation, Rural Health, the Black Belt Foundation, and Dallas County United Way to sponsor the event.

The Arts Revive event aimed recognizing the first anniversary of the Jan. 12 tornado will be held between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday. Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr., Dallas Couty Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn are expected to attend.
