The Selma City Marina is in the process of getting a major upgrade. At the end of the year, crews closed off the marina,  drained and dredged it.

We are glad to see the Marina project get a major facelift because that area has needed this upgrade for years.  

We also see the city marina as a great place for big-time fishing tournaments in the future.

We often drove down the road to reach the Marina and we saw other changes were needed: road improvements and landscaping.

We are also glad to see that a local contractor is being used for the marina project.

We applaud the efforts of Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. and Councilman Clay Carmichael for improvements to the City Marina, which connects to the Alabama River.
