U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL) waged a friendly bet on the outcome of the College Football National semifinal between the Alabama and Michigan Rose Bowl showdown on Wednesday.
Sewell, Robert Aderholt (R-AL), Debbie Dingell (D-MI), and Lisa McClain (R-MI) all picked their choice of winner for the annual New Year’s Day game, selecting between the Crimson Tide and Wolverines. The game will be played at 4 p.m. on Jan. 1 and televised by ESPN.
If the Alabama Crimson Tide wins, Bama fans Sewell and Aderholt (who share representation of Tuscaloosa) will enjoy Michigan’s own Detroit-style pizza courtesy of Reps. Dingell and McClain.
“There will be no better way to kick off the new year than an Alabama win over Michigan at the Rose Bowl!” Sewell said. “And there will be no better way to celebrate our nation’s greatest college football team than with some Detroit-style pizza. I know the Wolverines have had an impressive season, but good luck stopping Alabama. The Tide is going to Roll in Pasadena!”
If the Michigan Wolverines prevail, Wolverine fans. Dingell and McClain will enjoy a lunch of coveted Dreamland Bar-B-Que courtesy of Reps. Aderholt and Sewell.
“The Michigan Wolverines are the best team in the country, and I can’t wait for Coach Harbaugh and the boys to show Alabama what they’re made of,” McClain said. “I’m very much looking forward to joining Rep. Dingell on the winning side of this bet with my Alabama colleagues Rep. Aderholt and Rep. Sewell. Go Blue!”
