The Christmas holiday season is underway in Selma and Dallas County.

The area has plenty of events spread across Dec. 9-10, which we are glad to see take place.

A parade doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday. Starting at 10 a.m., the city of Minter will have its Christmas parade.

At 1 p.m., the City of Selma will have its annual Christmas Parade.

We’re always glad to see Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr., the Selma City Council, Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn and the Dallas County Commission, Valley Grande Mayor Wayne Labbe and the Valley Grande City Council spreading holiday cheer to residents.

On Sunday, we have two events.  The City of Valley Grande will have its Christmas in the Park from 2-4 p.m. at the Valley Grande Walking Trail.

The annual Christmas Boat Parade will be held at 6 p.m. on the Alabama River. We’re grateful to have these events for residents to enjoy.
