University of Alabama Athletic Director Greg Byrne spoke at the final Selma Quarterback Club meeting of the year on Nov. 6.
Byrne congratulated the five scholarship winners- Keith’s trio of Aveon Young, Jeffrey Gibson Jr., Joseph Lumpkin joined Marchun Moten-Weeden of Dallas County and Milton Hand of Morgan Academy- for their opportunities to secure a bright future.
“It means a lot that you have great support from your families and coaches,,” Byrne said. “Dont lose your work ethic. We have to take it one game at a time.”
Byrne also took time to discuss the Crimson Tide football team, currently ranked eighth in the latest College Football Rankings.
“I’m really proud of our football team and the development of quarterback Jalen Milroe,” Byrne said. “We can’t rest on our laurels. I’m excited to see what happens the rest of the season.”
Byrne said he enjoys the working relationship he has with the Alabama coaches and athletes in all sports. Byrne called Alabama football coach Nck Saban among the greatest coaches ever.
Bryne said his wife Regina also plays a role in his successful stint as AD. They have two sons, Nicholas and Davis.
