Reuben named Selma Times-Journal player of the week

Keith running back Saderreion Reuben is The Selma Times-Journal’s high school player of the week for a second time.

The senior had 244 yards rushing and two touchdowns as the Bears lost to Isabella 42-24 to close the regular season last week.

It was Reuben’s last Homecoming contest at Keith.  He earned player of the week honors two months ago.

Reuben joins Southside wide receiver Derick Smith as the only athletes to win the award more than once.

In the preseason, Keith coach Anthony Lumpkin called Reuben one of the team’s top leaders.

Eight other players have earned Player of the Week honors from the Selma Times-Journal: Southside quarterback MJ Reese, Southside wide receiver Erick Smith, Southside wide receiver Derick Smith, Southside cornerback Raquez Broadnax, Meadowview Christian School athlete Sean Pope, and Keith quarterback Aveon Young.
