Isabella rushes past Keith on Homecoming Night

Isabella spoiled Keith’s Homecoming on Friday night/

Elijah Kendrick had 200 total yards and three touchdowns as the Mustangs prevailed 42-24 at J.V. Caldwell Stadium in Orrville.

The loss overshadowed a 244 yard rushing performance from Bears running back Saderrion Reuben.

“The difference in the game was execution, it was about the little things,” Bears coach Anthony Lumpkin said.

The Mustangs (8-3) grabbed a 7-0 lead on Dre’Von Lee’s 10-yard TD run.

Keith closed within 7-6 on Reuben’s 50 yard tD run near the end of the first quarter.

Isabella extended its led to 14-6 on Kendricks’ 17-yatd pass to Dawson Edwards.

Keith climbed within 14-12 on Aveon Young’s 12-yard TD pass to Eric Hall, but missed the game-tying two point conversion.

The Bears had a chance to take the lead at halftime after a Musangs’ fumble went into the end zone.

Reuben was stopped at the Mustangs’ one-yard line with three seconds left before halftime.

Isabella delivered the knockout punch in the third quarter, scoring 21 points for a 35-12 lead. The Mustangs turned the game  around by recovering three short kickoffs.

Kendrick threw a 30-yard TD pass to Tyler Mims and scored twice from two yards out. He finished with 113 yards rushing

Malcolm Jones’ 7-yard TD in the fourth quarter, making it 35-18.

Jediah Works, who finished with 83 yards rushing, closed the Mustangs scoring on a 10-yard run.

Reuben’s 44-yard TD run closed the game’s scoring.

Keith travels in a first-round playoff game next Friday.
