The Dallas County Commission enjoyed one of its best weeks ever this week, approving a $31.7 million budget on Monday.

Two days later, the County Commission held a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for the new Dallas County Courthouse Administrative Building.

We applaud the leadership of Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn and the four Commissioners, Curtis Williams, Vivian Rogers, Jan Justice and Connel Towns, for successfully working with other county employees.

As we reported in Wednesday’s edition, employees received a five% raise and will get a S600 bonus in November.

We’re excited about the potential of the drive-thru Courthouse Administrative Building. for tag renewals and taxes for residents.

Nunn reminded residents at the ribbon-cutting ceremony that Justice, Williams, Towns and Rogers are up for re-election on May 5.

Their success rate should put all of those Commissioners in a great position to remain in office for another term.

We appreciate the effort and hard work of the Dallas County Commission.
