The annual Lobsterfest held Sept. 21was successful according to its organizers. The event, held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, is an annual fundraiser where profits go toward the WINGS (Walking in God’s Spirit). dementia patients and helps give their caregivers respite for a day.
The dinner included salad, lobster, potatoes, and bread and it was well worth the price of $45 to dine in. Chairperson Manera Searcy said over 350 lobster dinners were served.
We applaud the numerous corporate sponsors: First Cahawba Bank; Rayco Industries; Selcom; Talton Communications and Vaughn Regional Medical Center (VRMC) for making the event possible.
Chairperson Manera Searcy and former Selma City Councilwoman Susan Youngblood deserve a pat on the back too. We’re always glad to see Lobsterfest be successful, and we look forward to seeing next year’s Lobsterfest.
