For the second time in three years, Alabama football Radio announcer Eli Gold will be speaking to the Selma Quarterback Club.

Gold will speak to the Selma QB Club on Tuesday night at the George P. Evans Building at 6 p.m.

The year 2022 wasn’t good for Gold, who missed the 2022 season recovering from stage 3 esophageal cancer. He’s now in remission.

Gold calls only the Crimson Tide home games this year. Chris Stewart, who filled in for Gold last year, calls the road games this season for Gold.

A five-time Alabama Sportscaster of the Year, Gold is enshrined in the State of Alabama Sports and the University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences halls of fame.

Gold has authored three books: “Crimson Nation,” a history of Alabama football; “Bear’s Boys,” the story of 36 former Alabama players who share the lessons they learned from legendary Hall of Fame coach Paul “Bear” Bryant; and “From Peanuts to the Press Box,” an autobiography.
