The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office of Robert  Turner Jr. and the Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth, and Reconciliation (SCNTR) will co-host the National Day of Remembrance for Murder victims on Monday at Pocket Park at noon. Pocket Park is located next to Gallery 905.

The memorial balloon release will honor all murder victims in Selma and Dallas County. Entering the weekend, Selma has 18 murders this year.

“The Selma Center for Nonviolence is excited to co-sponsor Selma’s first annual National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims.  Violence is a community-wide problem. Through community partnerships and victims’ families we will continue to reduce violence,” said Shawna Goldsby, Victims’ Services Advocate.
