Leila Kelly is the latest Distinguished Young Woman of Dallas County.
A senior at Morgan Academy, Kelly will compete for the state title representing Dallas County on Jan. 19-20 in Montgomery.
“I am so honored to be DYW of Dallas County,” Kelly said. The relationships I made with this program are ones that I will not forget. I am so excited to represent Dallas County at the state level.”
We believe that Kelly will represent Dallas County well at the statewide competition in January.
We also applaud the five other girls who competed for the title at Selma High School last month: Claire Johnson (First Alternate), Taylor Roberts (second alternate), Madison Gayle, Anne Frances Pearce and Madge Minter We feel that this experience will help you build a great future.
We thank McCann Perkins for being last year’s winners.
DYW Chairman Demisha Stough also deserves a pat on the back for her strong encouragement to the girls. So do the local businesses that support the DYW program.
