Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum and Deputy J.T. Cole visited Drug Free Communities of Dallas County at three different schools this week.
The DCSO visited DFCDC Junior Hope Dealers at Martin Middle School, Tipton-Durant-Middle School and Southside High School on Wednesday.
Granthum and Cole both talked to the teenage students at both schools, advising them not to do drugs.
DFCDC Executive Director Jerria Martin said it’s always huge when the DCSO come out.
“A huge shout out to Granthum and Cole at the Sheriff’s Department for enlightening and encouraging our Junior Hope Dealers at Martin Middle on staying away from drugs and substances and staying on the right path to a successful lifestyle,” Martin said.
Martin said the talk at Southside High also involved a discussion about opioids.
According to Martin the visit at Tipton-Durant was also aimed at informing teachers and staff on signs of substance and drug use.
