Six Selma and Dallas County students were among the summer graduates at the University of Alabama.

Tyala Bonner, Markevien Eaton, Charles Grant McElroy and Pearson Whitaker and Shaniya England were among 1,257 students who earned degrees at Alabama over the summer.

Bonner, Eaton, Whitaker, McElroy are Selma residents. England and Henderson both live in Valley Grande.

According to an economic analysis done nationally for Alabama,  a degree from Alabama can pay more over time than investments in U.S. stock market indexes. The University provides numerous opportunities for service and growth through its educational, social, and cultural experiences.
