Valley Grande Council passes police jurisdiction

The Valley Grande City Council approved establishing a police jurisdiction at its City Council meeting on Tuesday.

Valley Grande Mayor Wayne Labbe said that Ordinance 2023-158 had to get approved one way or the other because the city was on a statewide list.

“It was best to do something,” Labbe said. “We can’t collect taxes or fees.”

Labbe and the council members present: Sara Day, Kay Davidson, Bruce Hughes and Jane Harris, approved the Ordinance.

In other council news:

-Labbe told the council to look over the Proposed Fiscal Budget 2024, which starts Oct. 1.

-Labbe said the council is still awaiting quotes to repair the Sewer.
