Selma resident Colton Baggerly earned recognition for being a new member of Troy University’s marching band, “Sound of the South” for the Fall semester.

A 2023 graduate of Dallas County High School, Baggerly is known for winning honors over the years including 2015 Mayor’s Inspirational Achievement Award under the late Mayor George Evans, member of the Meadowview Elementary School Chess Club, a second-place finish at the 2016 Alabama River Raft Race and earning a ribbon at the 2017 Dallas County 4-H Chick Chain show as a Martin Middle School student.
