Ms. Fannie “Dot” Bender, aged 89 passed away peacefully on August 5, 2023, at her residence in St. Louis, Missouri with her daughter at her side. She was the fourth of eleven children born to the late John and Frances Bender. She will be remembered for her fun and loving personality, passion for education, gardening and growing roses as well as a devotion to her family, church and friends. She was a snazzy dresser and enjoyed a great pair of shoes and a fur coat.

She joined Dallas County public Schools where taught English and History, She taught at Brantley Elementary and Keith High School where she retired after almost 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee; son, Stanley Lee; six brothers, O.C., George, Willie Mack, James, L.C. and Sam; and, two sisters, Martha and Lillie. Her memories with be cherished in the lives of her daughter Kathy Lee-Ivy (St. Louis, MO), Three grandchildren; Gabriel Ivy (Columbia, MO), Apprill Lee andMarques Lee (St. Louis, MO) three great grandchildren; Aariyah Stimage, Micah Ivy and Noah Ivy (St. Louis, MO), two sisters Willie Mae Christian (Orlando, FL), and Florence Marie Lamb (Albany, NY), one brother; Alfred Bender (Selma, AL). and a host of cousin
