The Selma City Council approved Board of Equalization  nominations for three members at a Special Called meeting on Thursday.

Dr. Verdell Lett-Dawson,  Brad Smith and Retired Sgt. First Class Willie Thomas Jr. were the board of Equalization nominations.

Council members attending the meeting were: City Council President Billy Young, council members Christie Thomas, Troy Harvill, Clay Carmichael, Atkin Jemison, Lesia James and Jannie  Thomas.

The council approved 6-0, with Jannie Thomas abstaining.

Harvill made the motion and was seconded by Christie Thomas.

The Department of Revenue will make the selection.
