A Personnel Board recommendation by Selma City Councilwoman Christie Thomas was a highlight at the City Council Work Session on Thursday.

Council members attending the meeting were: City Council President Billy Young, council members Christie Thomas, Troy Harvill, Clay Carmichael, Atkin Jemison, Lesia James and Jannie  Thomas.

One of her Business Items, Christie Thomas recommended Darlene Tennimon be added to the Personnel Board.

Jannie Thomas asked was she black or white? Christie Thomas replied, does it matter? Christie Thomas stayed on course, wanting the council to approve her choice at Tuesday’s City Council meeting at 6 p.m.

The section drew a little attention on Social Media.

Another highlight was Retired Sgt. First Class Willie Thomas Jr. on Citizen’s Concerns discussing Veteran’s PAM Magic Sauce Cook-Off, scheduled for Sept. 9 at Bloch Park.
