The Selma City Council approved a Selma Water Works and Sewer Board chart on Tuesday.
The city council approved a chart presented by Rep. Prince Chestnut at last week’s city council work session.
Selma City Councilman Michael Johnson said a SWWS chart was revised in 2016 by then-Selma City Attorney Jimmy Nunn, now the Dallas County Probate Judge.
Chestnut said misunderstandings came from people and terms, which dictate the service. Chestnut said that he spoke to Nunn, who agrees with him.
“It’s not my chart, I’m just going by the law,” Chestnut said. “Numbers don’t lie.”
Council President Billy Young, council members Troy Harvill, Clay Carmichael, San Randolph, Christie Thomas, Jannie Thomas, Lesia James voted yes. Atkin Jemison abstained. Johnson voted no.
