The 12th annual Jazz on the Grazz music festival was held last weekend at the St. James’ Phoenix Park.
Several artists were on the program and each delivered stellar musical performances: Harmonicist Jock Webb Kenny Keith, Deitrick Lawson & Sax Appeal, Ms. Necie & Sounds, Jeremy Flyy & Flight Control and Music Jam Up.
The event was held by the Coalition of Concerned Families, which former Selma City Councilwoman Angela Benjamin serves as President. “What an absolute amazing day,” Benjamin said. “One of the best yet! As president of an organization that does so much behind the scenes, it’s always a fun time to be able to peek out and share in the joy of community and see all the smiling faces. This is Selma.”
Before the concerts began, kids enjoyed themselves in a bouncy house and water events.
The Lemonade Lady, Tisdale’s Backyard BBQ, Eyenique and Sweet Advantages were among the businesses with vendors at the event.
Selma City Council members Jannie Thomas and Sam Randolph both attended the event, Former Dallas County Commissioner Valerie Reuben also attended Jazz on the Grazz.
