WoodmenLife, Selma Chapter 3 made its annual donation to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.

The organization donated Mark’s Mart gift cards and $500 check.

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said the donations will be used to fund Project Lifesaver, which outfits those with autism, dementia

“We appreciate them thinking about us and support what we do,” Granthum said.

According to Granthum added that the DCSO deputies, staff workers, dispatchers and officers at the Dallas County Jail will all receive $20 gift cards

Ashley Kitzinger, who works in Community Outreach at Woodmen Life, said its their way of giving back to the DCSO.

“It’s our way of saying to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, ‘thank you,” Kitzinger said. “We donate to first responders every year.”
