Selma City Council votes to work on Selma Marina

The Selma City Council approved for work to get done on the Selma Marina this summer.

City of Selma Planning and Development Director Danielle Wooten told the city council that Tri County Construction has agreed to do the work later this summer. Plans were provided by ADCNR for main floating dock, four finger docks,  and one gangway for a total of $255,000.

An Option I request has option 1 of $160,00 to dredge Marina with sheet pile, throat, pump out water, stockpile material in field on top of hill, including all labor, material and equipment.

Option 2 involves Handicap parking, including concrete parking stall, concrete sidewalk, retainer wall and handrails around existing structure.

The city council agreed to suspend the rules and approve the contract.

City Council President Billy Young, council members Troy Harvill, Christie Thomas, Michael Johnson, Sam Randolph, Atkin Jemison, Lesia James approved.

Council members Jannie Thomas and Clay Carmichael abstained. Carmichael said he abstained for fear of personal or financial gain.
