A Tyler man was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle accident in Lowndes County.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports Thursday that  Jay D. Morgan, 57, was fatally injured when the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage he drove collided head-on with the 1996 Nissan Maxima driven by Bryant L. Lawrence, 52, also of Tyler.  Morgan was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Lowndes County 9 near Double Church Road, about 11 miles west of Mosses, in Lowndes County.

No further details are available as Troopers with the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident.
