National Weather Service will investigate Wednesday’s heavy rainstorm in Valley Grande

The National Weather Service Birmingham confirmed Thursday morning they are reviewing the heavy rainstorm that hit Valley Grande Wednesday to determine if it was a tornado.

A storm chaser in Valley Grande said they thought it was a tornado.

Dallas County EMA Director Toya Crusoe said it has not been confirmed by the National Weather Service that a tornado hit Valley Grande.

A Spokesperson from NWS Birmingham said they are looking into the situation.

“Our team is assessing the storm,” the spokesperson said. “After we review the information and it determines being more than a storm, our team will head down there and look at the damage.”
