Preston McGee Awarded Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant

Former Dallas County High School Valedictorian Preston McGee earned a $1,000 Study Abroad Grant from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

McGee, who graduated from the University of Alabama earlier this month, will use the grant to study abroad in Porto, Portugal at the European Innovation Academy.

The 2019 graduate of Dallas County High School is an intern with Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville, the former Auburn University head football coach.

“I am to thankful for all of God’s blessings in my life,” McGee said. “He has blessed me more than I could ask and I pray he continues to watch over and guide me in the years to come.”

McGee is one of 125 students nationwide to receive the award.

Established in 2001, the Study Abroad Grant Program is part of the Society’s robust portfolio of award and grant programs, giving $1.3 million each year to outstanding students and members through graduate and dissertation fellowships, funding for post-baccalaureate development, and grants for local, national and international literacy initiatives.
