U.S. Army Veteran Erroll Boglin Sr., a native of Selma, will march in the National Memorial Day parade on Monday.
The parade, which will start at 1 p.m., starts at Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. The holiday parade is for military veterans who served in Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Boglin served in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
“It means a lot to be part of the parade and I am honored,” Boglin said. “I feel good about it.”
Scott C. Stump, President and CEO of the National Desert Storm Memorial Association, said he’s glad to see those served in Operation Desert Storm, which came under U.S. President George H.W. Bush.
“I am very humbled and proud to see that the desire to remember and honor our fallen continues to be a top priority for hundreds of Desert Shield and Desert Storm Veterans marching in this year’s Memorial Day parade.”
