Blackbelt Benefit Group (BBG), a non-profit 501(c)(3)  organization that has been committed to disaster relief efforts in Alabama for over a decade, is  proud to announce its latest fundraiser to support long-term recovery efforts in Selma. On  January 12, 2023, a devastating tornado hit Selma, causing widespread damage and  displacement. In response, BBG is rallying support for the community by combining two of their  signature events, The Annual Rockin’ Riboff Benefit and the Rick Carter Songwriter festival.  The event will be held on June 3, at 1122 Water Avenue in Historic Downtown Selma,  and will feature a variety of musicians and family friendly activities to raise funds for long-term  recovery efforts in Selma, AL,

BBG will use the funds raised to benefit Selma’s citizens who fell victim to this disaster  by partnering with other organizations to rebuild houses. To help ease the stress associated with  disaster recovery, BBG will also be giving tickets to those who were directly affected.

“We believe that it’s important to put the ‘fun’ back in fundraising,” said Josh Wilkerson,  President of Blackbelt Benefit Group. “By sponsoring, competing, attending, or donating to our  efforts to raise much-needed funding to rebuild houses in Selma, you can make a tangible  difference in the lives of those affected by the tornado. We hope that the community will come  together to support this important cause and show their support for Selma’s long-term recovery.”

“Our community has been through so much in recent months, and we’re thrilled to be able  to come together and support each other in this way,” said Wilkerson. “The Tornado Benefit  Concert is a chance for us to show our support and raise funds for the long-term recovery efforts  that are so desperately needed in Selma. We hope that everyone will come out to enjoy the  music, food, and fun while also making a difference in the lives of our neighbors and friends.”
