Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will hold 38th annual Cotillion

The Zeta Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will hold its 38th Annual Debutante Cotillion on Saturday at Wallace Community College-Selma.

The program, which starts at 6 pm. has a theme: “A Night of Pearlfection:  Celebrating Scholarship, Service, and Sisterhood.”

Four women will be honored: Kamora Lasha Talton, Miranda Ronteria Rose,  Aysha Nicole Mack and KeShundra  T’Mia Carter.

Here’s a bio on the Debutantes:

Miss Kamora Lasha Talton

The daughter of   Mr. Timothy Talton & Ms. Tamika Morrow

Kamora is a senior at Dallas County High School where she participates in numerous activities including FBLA- where serves as the Vice President, National Honor Society, BETA CLUB, Selma-Dallas County Youth Ambassadors, Selma-Dallas County Junior Hope Dealers and Senior Culturama Club.

Kamora is also an A-Honor Roll student, she also benchmarked in ACT, & ACT Workkeys, & passed the ASVAB.

She has received scholarships from Alabama A & M University, Talladega College, Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, Clark-Atlanta, and a host of other colleges. After high School, she plans to attend Talladega College to become a secondary math  teacher. She also plans to become a school counselor.

Ms. Aysha Nicole Mack

The Daughter of Mr. Kelvin  & Dr. Monica Mack.

Aysha is a senior at Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School  where she participates in numerous activities including HOSA-Vice President, Brewtech Ambassadors – Recording Secretary, Volleyball, Senior Culturama Club Treasurer, and Dual Enrollment at Auburn University Montgomery. She is a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church where she participates in the Youth Department, serves as a member of the Usher Board and media ministry.

Her honors include National English Honor Society, AB Honor Roll, HOSA State Qualifier, National Honor Society, National History Honor Society, National Science Honor Society,Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society).

After graduation, Aysha plans to attend Tennessee State University and major in nursing.

Miss Miranda Ronteria Rose

The granddaughter of   Mr.  Willie and Mattie Rose

She is a senior at Dallas County High School where she participates in numerous activities including:

HOSA club, FBLA Club, Beta Club, Dallas County High Varsity Cheerleader, Vaughn Regional Medical Center Student Lab Intern, Phoenix Physical Therapy Student Intern, Dance for 8 years, Pointe, Tap and Jazz, Distinguished Young Women Participant, and Senior Culturama Club President.

Her honors include being a Certified Patient Care Technician, CPR Certified, A Honor Roll, AB honor roll. She has benchmarked in ACT, Work Keys, and passed the ASVAB.   She  received scholarships for University of Alabama, Miles College, Alabama A &M University, and a host of other colleges.

After graduating from high school, Miranda plans to attend the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and major in nursing with a minor in sports media.

Ms. KeShundra  T’Mia Carter

The daughter of Ms. Kendra Irby and the granddaughter of Mr. Ken Irby.

She is a senior at Selma High School where she participates in numerous activities including:

A member of Senior Culturama where she serves as Social Committee Chair. She is also the football manager for Selma High School Varsity Football team. She enjoys reading, drawing, socializing with friends, arts, engaging with children, and cooking.

KeShundra plans to attend Fortis College in Montgomery to receive a license to become a dental hygienist.
