The Selma City Council started a monthly tradition at its city council meeting last week..

Edgewood Elementary School fifth-grader Timothy Anderson was honored as the first student of the month by the Selma City Council.

Anderson was chosen because of his kindness to his classmates and respecting adults.  We appreciate that kind of attitude, which goes a long way in life.

We applaud the City Council: President Billy Young, Michael Johnson, Lesia James, Christie Thomas, Troy Harvill, Clay Carmichael, Sam Randolph, Jannie Thomas and Atkin Jemison, for recognizing our young generation.
