Uniontown teenager killed in Tuscaloosa accident

The two teenagers, including one from Uniontown, were killed in traffic accident Saturday  in Tuscaloosa.

According to a Facebook post by the Perry County School Systems, the victims were Samuel Brown of Uniontown and Cottondale’s Madison Sims. They attended the Bryant High School Prom on Friday.

Brown, 18, attended R.C. Hatch High School and played football for R.C. Hatch High School.

“To say we will miss him would be an understatement,” R.C. Hatch High School posted on Facebook.

According to Tuscaloosa police,  the two teens died Saturday when the 2022 Tesla in which rode crashed with a semi-truck at Skyland Boulevard East and Interstate 20/59 about 1:50 a.m.

The Tesla was pinned underneath the truck’s trailer and the vehicle’s four occupants were trapped. Sims was the driver and Brown the front-seat passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Two other teenagers were also injured in the crash. Their identities were not revealed by law enforcement.
