The City of Valley Grande overcame heavy rainstorm to hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt last Saturday at the City of Valley Grande Park.

Valley Grande City Councilwoman Sara Day, who’s in charge of special events, said the turnout was great and had almost 300 people.

“Weather moved on out early Saturday morning and made way for beautiful sunny skies just in time for the Easter Egg Hunt,” Day said. “Everyone seemed to have a great time. This year we had various games for the kids to play prior to the egg hunt. The games were sponsored and led by local churches. This was a great addition and the kids loved it.”

Day said she thanks Parks and Recreation Director Bubba Holley for his contribution.

“Special thanks to Bubba Holley for all his hard work in planning and coordinating with the local churches for the event,” Day said.

Valley Grande Mayor Wayne Labbe said he was pleased at how the event turned out, thanking Day and Holley for their hard work in making the event successful.

Day also appreciated the support of Labbe and other city council members: Kay Davidson, Robbie Rose, Bruce Hughes and Jane Harris.
