Dallas County is well-represented on the Alabama Sportswriters Association All-State basketball team.
Keith High guard Tommy Tisdale III and Morgan Academy guard Bailey Brown made the team for the third straight year. Joining Tisdale and Brown are Southside High guard Shamaya Allison and Southside forward Roosevelt Towns III.
-Tisdale made the Class 1A first team, steadily climbing from honorable mention as a freshman in 2021 and second team last season. The 6-foot-3 junior averaged 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists a game.
-Brown ends her Lady Senators career on the AISA All-State girls’ first team. The 5-foot-6 Brown averaged 20 points and four assists. She earned third-team All-State honors two years ago and second-team last year.
-Towns earned honorable mention All-state honors the same as he did in football during the fall. The senior averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists as the Panthers reached the 3A Southwest Regional finals. Towns passed for over 3,000 yards in football and ran for over 1,000 yards.
-Allison made third-team Class 3A girls. The junior averaged 13 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for the Lady Panthers.
