Hartselle man killed in Dallas County accident

A Hartselle man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Alabama Highway 5 in Dallas County.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that Irving Wilbert, 74, was fatally injured when the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado that he was drove got struck by a 2021 Chevrolet 5500 service truck driven by James R. Gulledge Jr., 48, of Helena.

Wilbert was pronounced dead at the scene.  Gulledge was injured and transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment.  The crash occurred on Alabama 5 near the 39-mile marker, in Dallas County.

No further details are available as Troopers with the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident.
