Selma City Schools, Dallas County Schools closing offices at noon today

Selma City Schools and Dallas County Schools closed their offices Tuesday because of the heavy rainstorm that hit the area.

Dallas County spent part of Tuesday under a Tornado Watch. The National Weather Service says that the storms can produce high winds and hail as well as the possibility of tornadoes. The worst of the storm is scheduled to come through Dallas County at noon. Rain and strong storms are expected to last until early tomorrow morning. Selma City Schools students and Dallas County School students return to school on Wednesday after the Christmas and New Years Holiday.

Dallas County High School’s basketball game Tuesday against Booker T Washington is rescheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m. with the Varsity Girls followed by the Varsity Boys. There will be no JV games.

Selma High’s contest against Demopolis was moved to Wednesday scheduled for 5 p.m with the JV games followed by Varisty.
