The City of Valley Grande held its annual Christmas in the Park on Sunday despite heavy rain.

Valley Grande Councilwoman Sara Day, who’s in charge of special events, said the rain only moved the two-hour event into the pavilion. Day also said the city was determined to have the event as scheduled.

The city residents appreciated it and so did we.  Kids always want to see Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus at Christmas time.

Day does a great job putting on special events, including Easter and the Fourth of July.  We appreciate her hard work and dedication.

We also credit both Parks and Recreation Director Bubba Holley and former councilwoman for their contribution to helping Day with the holiday event.

We applaud the entire city council for supporting Day and always backing each other’s projects. Mayor Wayne Labbe and other council members, Kay Davidson, Jane Harris, Robbie Rose, and Bruce Hughes. This is what Christmas is all about.
