Selma and Dallas County always show us the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Northside Baptist Church, Gospel Tabernacle Church, Snow’s Cleaning Service, Dave’s Market, Selma Area Food Bank, All in One Restaurant, LIFT Ministries are among the countless organizations that stepped up and provided meals and clothing for the needy this week.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Northside Baptist Church teamed with Selma Area Food Bank and Dave’s Market for its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.
It’s a tradition that Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said he always intend to each year and we applaud him for that effort.
We also admire the efforts of LIFT Ministries and Snow’s Cleaning Service donated Thanksgiving Dinner and supplies inmates at the Dallas County Jail and juveniles at the Perry Varner Detention Center. All in One provided the food.
LIFT Ministries Founder/CEO LaTanglia Williams and LeMarkus A. Snow never forgot part of their past and we appreciate them for it. They know what the inmates are going through. As the saying goes, “Experience is a good teacher.”
What Pastor Grayson accomplished this week is more than impressive, it’s awesome. He pulled double duty two days before Thanksgiving Day and then the holiday itself.
Nearly eight tons of food were given away to about 500 families Tuesday at Bloch Park by Gospel Tabernacle and Son Light Ministries.
On Thursday, Grayson led a group that gave away Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless in front of Good Samaritan Hospital.
We appreciate people like Granthum, Snow, Grayson, Williams, Smith being in our community helping others. They are showing us the true meaning of Thanksgiving, something we love seeing.
