ArtsRevive, Alabama Symphony and Alabama Council on the Arts worked together to treat 220 students in Selma City Schools and Dallas County Schools for a musical event at Samford University on Thursday.
Edgewood Elementary, Clark Elementary and Brantley Elementary were treated to a concert of baritone and soprano soloists from Samford University Dance Troupe, narrator, visuals, and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra musicians.
According to ArtsRevive Executive Director Becky Youngblood, the chartered buses and tickets were free to the children based on a grant to the Alabama Symphony from the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
We applaud the Alabama Symphony, Alabama Council on the Arts, Youngblood, ArtsRevive President Ruth Talton and Samford for making this memorable event happen for the kids.
