The Kiwanis Club of Selma is on pace to re-open later this summer.
Selma City Council President Billy Young said at a recent Selma City Council meeting that the club would return after a 10-year absence. Young met with Kiwanis Club of Montgomery members Donnie Robinson and Keith McKendall last week.
The Kiwanis Club has built a reputation for its service projects for the younger generation.
Young recalled his days at Selma High School on how much the Kiwanis Club played a key role in his future success. Young’s resume speaks for itself.
We have outstanding organizations in Selma and Dallas County such as the Selma Rotary Club and the Selma Quarterback Club that help our future leaders in Selma and Dallas County.
In 2012, the Kiwanis Club of Selma closed because of decreasing membership. They deserve a second chance to start over in the Queen City and Dallas County.
