The Fourth of July Fireworks show and Park Security Gate were the biggest subjects in Valley Grande City Council meeting on Tuesday night.
The meeting was held Tuesday because the Fourth of July was Monday.
PRO Tem President Kay Davidson presided in the absence of Mayor Wayne Labbe, who’s on vacation.
Other council members were present: Sara Day, Jane Harris, Bruce Hughes and Robbie Rose as well as Treasurer/Clerk Kim Harris.
Day, who’s in charge of the Walking Trail and Community Events, recapped the Fourth of July Fireworks show on Sunday and said she received positive feedback.
“The fireworks show was a success and we had a great turnout,” Day said. “Everyone I spoke to loved it.’’
Day said that she’s already looking into preparing for next year’s fireworks show, looking at the prices.
The only old business on the agenda is the Park Security Gate. Hughes said he will meet with Vision security technologies of Birmingham next Tuesday.
The next Valley Grande City Council meeting will be held on Monday, July 18 at 6 p.m. at Valley Grande City Hall.
