A Selma man was killed Tuesday at an apartment complex on the Florida Gulf Coast.

According to the Escambia Sheriff Department, Deputies found the body of Keontae Jones laying under a car with a gunshot wound to the chest at the Forest Creek Apartments on Patton Drive.

Jones’ family members identified Jones, 21 and brought his body back to the Queen City.

WEAR-TV in Pensacola reported that Jones’ dad Dondi Fikes left last weekend to go help his grandpa who had a stroke.

Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said the investigation is ongoing.

Jones’ obit appeared in the Selma Times-Journal this week and funeral arrangement are still pending by Randall Miller Funeral Service..
